Detail
The 2022/23 Manchester City Home Jersey celebrates one of the club's greatest-ever players: Colin Bell. Nicknamed "The King of the Kippax" , a stand at the early Maine Road stadium, Bell spent 1966-1979 in sky blue. The trio of Bell, Mike Summerbee and Francis Lee led City to domestic domination, the first glorious era for the club. City won the old First Division, the FA Cup, the Charity Shield , the League Cup, all for the first time, and lifted the European Cup Winners' Cup.
Bell is a member of the Hall of Fame for both Manchester City and England. He passed in 2021.
Burgundy features around the collar and cuffs. The color first appeared on City socks in the early 60's. The color is a fan favorite, and is also a nod to the red and black shirt worn by Bell and the 1967/68 Champions of England. The badge sits mid-chest, where it was placed for the first time on a City shirt in 1970, and first worn by Bell and teammates.
